Foster Friends! : 2013

Chuckie is a 7 month old brittany spaniel/pitbull mix. He is a fun loving puppy who is looking for an active home. He loves being out on trails or running around the back yard. Chuckie loves other dogs but thinks they want to play with him ALL the time. So he can be pushy with them to try and make them play. He would do best in a home with an alpha dog to help learn these boundaries. He would do great as an only dog too. He is great with the resident cat but would chase cats who run. He also believes that ALL cats want to play with him too. He has learned that the resident cat does not. So even though he gets along well with the cat in his foster home, he may be too much for other cats. He is completely house and crate trained and is normally crated for an 8 hr day. He does need his crate when no one is home to keep him out of trouble. When home with you, he likes to just take toys to his bed and play with them. He is pretty calm in the house. He does need to have toys to chew on around him to keep him from getting bored. He is still a puppy after all! Treat balls and kongs are great for him. He would love doing puppy classes with his new family. Anything to keep him active and entertained. Chuckie came to the shelter as a stray who was most likely hit by a car. He had a fractured hip socket and has had surgery. The vet says he will not be slowed down by it and he was running and playing like nothing was wrong before surgery. He needs a securely fenced in yard to keep him safe as he LOVES to be out in the yard running. Chuckie will be available as soon as he is recovered from surgery.
