The New Girl
This is Matilda. She is searching for a new home! Here is her bio from petfinder:
Matilda is a blue fawn pittie. She has eyes to match her hair! When meeting her at the shelter Matilda does not always present herself as a lady. She can seem hyper there. But take her home and she is mild mannered and extremely sweet and loving. She loves to lounge around on a dog bed and just hang out. She is not a big fan of the cold so on really cold days she will go out just long enough and want back in. She loves to pick up a toy and parade around with it when she comes in. If she cannot find a toy immediately, a sock or shoe will do. She does not chew on them though, only her toys. She will run right into her kennel and wait for you to give her a treat. She is house trained and stays in a kennel when no one is home. The cats like to climb all over her and she doesn't pay them any attention. She lives with an alpha dog and when he is being grumpy she simply ignores him. She would love to play more with him. He entire body wiggles when she is happy, which is all the time. She knows how to sit, and is working on lay down. She does occasionally jump when she wants to play. So she is working on off as well. She is just an all around good dog. She has not been around kids but has such a great personality I think she would love them. Kids under 5 would not be recommended as she has a mean tail and I think she could knock them over. She will make a great addition to any home! For more info you can email her foster mom at hannah121177@hotmail.com

Home for the Holidays!
This is Dingo Jack! He is a pit mix. He is being fostered until Jan 3 for the Home For The Holidays program through Ingham County Animal Control. He is looking for his forever home. He is house/crate trained. Loves his toys! Good with other dogs. Needs a home without cats. He is neutered and UTD to shots. Very smart boy! Just a year old. Been sitting in the shelter since October :-(
Vanity Update
Vanity was doing well (for an old girl) until thanksgiving weekend. She started feeling sick. We ended up going to the emergency clinic. She was diagnosed with a pyometra. Which is in a massive infection. It was very sad as it is completely preventable by spaying. So with her age and other issues it was decided the best thing for her was to euthanize her. This is the biggest reason I preach spay/neuter to people. She also had mammary tumors (also a result of not being spayed) which were most likely cancerous. It was a sad day but at least she is pain free now.
