Took Duke in to the vet today. His heart worm antigen test was positive (meaning there are adult worms in his heart). His microfilaria test (babies in the blood) was negative. He starts meds tomorrow for 2 weeks and then will get his first injection. He will spend the night in the hospital and then a month later get 2 more injections. He did very well at his appointment. Didn't flinch when they took his blood and kept trying to give the doctor kisses! He weighed 74# and needs to gain at least 10 more!
Hi Hannah, thanks for the update. I was just about to email you but thought I should check his blog first. :o) It looks like he's already put on some weight since I saw him last and glad to hear he kept trying to lick the vet. So adorable! ~Mary
